Concept Perth has been a leading fertility centre in Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART) in Western Australia since 1982 with ISO 9002 accreditation. It also has links with University of Western Australia, Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology and King Edward Memorial Hospital for Women in Perth, Australia.

The establishment of Concept in Kuala Lumpur means that patients now have the option to seek quality fertility treatment with the latest technologies from abroad.

Dr Mahes Sittampalam (MBBS, MRCOG)

Dr. Mahes Sittampalam has been a resident consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist attached to Damai Service Hospital (HQ) in Kuala Lumpur since 1999. Prior this, he was a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist in the General Hospital of Johor Bahru, Malaysia. He completed his post graduate training in Cardiff, U.K. where his special interest was infertility.  Dr. Mahes Sittampalam has also attended training at the fertility unit at King Edward Memorial Hospital in Perth, Australia.

He is now actively involved in the Assisted Reproduction Techniques Unit of Damai Service Hospital (HQ), Concept Fertility Centre, with close to 200 cycles per year. Dr. Mahes Sittampalam has also been interviewed and featured in numerous local publications, newspapers, TV and radio on issues pertaining to infertility and reproduction.

Dr. Guna Sittampalam is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Damai Service Hospital (HQ). As a trained obstetrician and gynaecologist, it is no wonder that he has a special interest in infertility treatment which resulted in the establishment of Concept Fertility Centre (Aus), the state-of-the-art Australian-based Assisted Reproduction Techniques Unit of the hospital.

Concept Fertility Centre (Aus) is now one of the busiest fertility units in Kuala Lumpur, performing over 300 cycles a year.

Hospitals & Facilities 

The Damai Service Hospital Group commenced in 1981 based on the vision of the founder, Dr. Guna Sittampalam of Providing Excellent & Affordable Care to Everybody (PEACE)

Past

The first hospital with 40 beds was established in the same year and soon became popular in the next decade. The group grew rapidly and in 1989, another 30 bedded hospital was opened in Melawati, followed by the establishment of Seavoy Nursing Home, a 100-bedded nursing home. Rapid expansion was seen in year 1992 (due to increasing demand for its medical services) of which Damai (HQ) reached its peak & began to run as a 60 bedded private hospital.

The group spread its wings further in 1998 with the expansion of a 30 bedded Day Surgical Centre at DSH (HQ) and an association with University Putra Malaysia Medical School. 1998 also saw the establishment of our Damai School of Nursing which is accredited by the Ministry of Health to support the need of trained nursing staff. A year later, Damai Service Hospital (HQ) became accredited to ISO 9002 which reflects our commitment to continuous quality care at international standards.

The quest for excellence continues in September 2001 with the establishment of Concept Fertility Centre (Australia) & DSH Hair Centre in 2003. Both of which offer state-of-the-art technology in Assisted Reproduction Technology (ART) & Hair Replacement Therapy.

Present

They are proud of their sophisticated technologies including high dependency care wards, 2 theatres, laboratory, labor room, nursery and a 24-hour accident and emergency unit with ambulance services.
