ImageCentral Market - The central market in Kuala Lumpur is also another place to check out for its beauty. It used to be a wet market more than 50 years ago, and today it is an emblem of Malaysian culture. The market is not simply a place where things are bought and sold, but is in fact a major location where demonstrations and activities take place, such as batik painting, fortune telling, shadow puppet plays, glass blowing, dance classes, and art classes. This is so well known for its activities and designs that it was awarded the Coronation Architecture Design Award in 1953.

 

 

 

ImageNational Library - This library is located at Jalan Tun Razak. It has a magnificent is blue in color and was made with the concept of a tengkolok (Malay headgear). The library is a recent structure in Kuala Lumpur; it opened in 1982. It has a collection about Malaysia by Malaysian authors in addition to historic Malay manuscripts. If you want to visit this place, you may do so between 1Oam and 5pm everyday except Monday.

 

 

 

ImagePetaling Street - This street is the center of Kuala Lumpur's Chinatown, and it still maintains the traditional atmosphere it had in its genuine form. One well-known tradition in the older days was for vendors to spread out their items on the street at night. Though one may purchase any kind of stuff available, it must be said that the night market holds a treasure of the visitor that does not cost anything. This means that just experiencing the sites and sounds is more than a treat this place has to offer.

 

 

 

 

ImageMerdeka Square - The Malaysian flag was first hoisted at this place in 1957. Giving the place its due respect, it has the tallest flagpole in the country with the Malaysian flag hoisted on it.

 

 

 

Masjid Jamek - One of Kuala Lumpur’s oldest Mosques is Masjid Jamek. It is situated at a point where two rivers (Kelang and Gombak) converge. It is often said to be the birth place of Kuala Lumpur.

 

 

 

ImageTaman Tasik Perdana - This is Kula Lumpur’s most well-known park. It has a variety of recreational facilities. In addition to this there are also the Bird Park, the Hibiscus Park, the Orchid Garden, the Butterfly Park, the Deer Park and Memorial Tun Razak.

 

KL Tower - Another must-see is the third highest telecommunications tower in the world; the KL Tower, which was completed in 1995. It has a bird’s eye view of Kuala Lumpur and other areas.

 

KLCC Kuala Lumpur City Centre - The Petronas Twin Towers were the tallest buildings in the world until Taipei 101, as measured to the top of their structural components (spires, but not antennas), took over the record. Spires are considered integral parts of the architectural design of buildings, to which changes would substantially change the appearance and design of the building, whereas antennas may be added or removed without such consequences. The Petronas Twin Towers remain the tallest twin buildings in the world.

 


Kuala Lumpur City Tour -The city of Kuala Lumpur was built on the confluence of two rivers, the Klang and the Gombak rivers. The tour will highlight the old and the modern that makes this city vibrant. Places of interest includes visiting a handicraft centre, Jamek Mosque, drive pass Chinatown and Parliament House, photo stop at the King's Palace, Railway station, Sultan Abdul Samad building, National Monument and country's history and culture.

Bird shows are also available at  designated times. Besides the Bird Park, The Lake Gardens have abundance of other attractions like the Deer Park, Orchid & Hibiscus Garden, Butterfly Park and the beautifully landscaped gardens. ImageFireflies Tour - Fireflies - Flashing in synchrony, fireflies are found in abundance in the Mangrove (Berembang) trees, along the lower reaches of Selangor River.
Tour Itinerary - Our drive to Kuala Selangor taken approximately 1.5 hours and on arrival we visit Bukit Melawati where Fort Altingsburg is located. The hilltop is crowned by a lighthouse and tall beautiful shady trees a haven for local birds, silvered leaf monkeys and long tail macaques.
At dusk we drive across the bridge over the Selangor River for a seafood dinner at the fishing Village. After dinner we take a 15 minutes drive to a Malay Village, where we board a typical Malay 5-seater wooden row boat (Sampan). Life jackets are provided and the boatmen would row us along the river.
Here, millions of fireflies present us with a dazzling display of lights flickering in synchrony that resemble twinkling electric lights on a Christmas tree.
Studies have shown that male fireflies flash three times per second, while the female-emitting a glow of lesser intensity flash only once in three seconds. Only male fireflies flash in synchrony. We spend a few wonderful minutes beside these trees, marveling at the wonder of nature before returning to the jetty and heading for Kuala Lumpur.
Dress casually and bring along rain gear on wet days. Departures might be cancelled if there is too much rain the coastal area.

ImageElephant Sanctuary - Welcome to Kuala Gandah The national Department of Wildlife and National Parks established the Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary in 1989. The center is a base for the elephant relocation team, which began the translocation program in 1974. Being the only one of its kind in Malaysia, the team's duty is to track down, sedating and relocating problem elephants from areas whose natural habitats are constantly encroached by human developments, namely plantations. The captured wild elephants are then relocated to National Parks. Over the past 25 years the 24 strong team has helped the prevent the further decline of the elephant population by relocating more than 500 wild elephants. (approx 2 hours drive)

Optional Tour ( Deer Sanctuary ) - This deer sanctuary is situated in Bukit Rengit, Lanchang, about 140km from Kuantan. Traverse the park's 'Nature Garden' on an elevated boardwalk and marvel at its varieties of herbs and plants. The highlight of a visit here will be the interesting and fascinating deer-feeding session.
The park's 'Animal World' offers attractions such as ostriches, peacocks, deer and a sunbear. Visitors can also go camping or join a guided tour to learn basic jungle survival skills

ImageBatu caves & County Tour - Journey into the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur (30-45 minute drive) and discover the amazing sights of nature and tradition. Drive along Ambassadors Row where embassies of various nations are located. Visit the Royal Selangor Pewter factory and pass by Malay villages. See how batik is done by hand. Finally the famous Batu Caves with its 272 steps, these limestone caves are a popular tourist attraction for the Thaipusam Festival. The festival is a spectacular affair which attracts thousands of devotees and spectators.
